According to a statement shared by the DCI, Mwenda is believed to have been in a relationship with the late radio presenter, whose body was discovered in his Nairobi residence. Initial investigations suggest that the couple spent time together at Mwenda’s home, where an argument allegedly broke out. The confrontation escalated, leading Mwenda to fatally stab Achieng before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, Mwenda went into hiding, with his whereabouts unknown since November 1st. The DCI launched a probe and carried out a rigorous search, eventually tracking him down.
