Investigations into the brutal murder of Deka Abdinoor Gorone have unravelled a harrowing story of love, rejection, and betrayal.

Despite her family’s strong disapproval of their relationship, Deka remained deeply committed to Hashim.
Twice, Hashim had approached her parents seeking their approval for marriage, but his proposals were declined due to cultural differences.
This rejection strained Deka’s relationship with her family, leading her to continue the relationship in secrecy, even as friends and relatives raised concerns about Hashim’s character.
Deka, who worked at a restaurant in Nairobi after moving from Wajir, disappeared on October 21.
Her absence alarmed her family, especially after the discovery of three mutilated bodies in Eastleigh on the same day.
Initially fearing the worst, her family searched mortuaries before filing a missing person report at California Police Station on October 24.
In a chilling twist, Deka’s mother received a voice message from her claiming she had left the country and was safe, though she did not disclose her location.
“If I had money, I would have treated you. I’m currently on a bus heading to a place I do not know,” Deka Abdinoor said in the voice message.Investigators suspect she recorded the message under duress, likely instructed by Hashim.
Further investigation revealed Hashim had also contacted a relative, feigning arrest and requesting financial assistance, while hinting that Deka had “migrated.”
Ongoing investigations have uncovered crucial evidence, including Hashim’s phone and Deka’s identification card, though her mobile phone and some body parts remain missing.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigation is determined to uncover the full scope of this heinous crime and bring justice to Deka’s grieving family.
