A limited edition vinyl LP box set for Nujabes‘ Samurai Champloo soundtrack has been released in celebration of the anime’s 20th anniversary.
The 7-inch box set includes six vinyl LPs pressed on illustrations of the beloved anime’s characters. Fans will be able to listen to Samurai Champloo’s theme song and other tracks produced by the late artist, as well as exclusive merchandise that incorporate memorable scenes from the anime’s opening sequence. The box set’s packaging also features newly-drawn illustrations specifically created for the show’s 20th anniversary.
Samurai Champloo first aired from January to September 2004, and followed the journeys of Fuu, a tea waitress, Mugen, an outlaw and Jin, who served as a ronin. Cowboy Bebop’s Shinichirō Watanabe served as the anime’s director, while Nujabes composed the soundtrack alongside Shinji “Tsutchie” Tsuchida, Fat Jon and Force of Nature.
The Samurai Champloo 20th anniversary box set is available now via Manhattan Records for ¥12,000 JPY (approximately $80 USD).
