SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. —

Water has been turned off in an area of Simpsonville due to a broken valve, Greenville Water said Friday.

The area affected is on Highway 417 from Interstate 385 to Cothran Drive. Highway 417 is also Simpsonville’s Northeast Main Street, where several businesses are located including Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Greenville Water officials did not release the location of the incident, but said the broken valve was 10 inches in size.

There was no estimate of when the repairs would be complete.

Crews are establishing traffic controls in the area for safety, water officials said.

They asked drivers to use caution in the area as crews work to repair the problem.
