Chevy has just unveiled a new accessory for C8 Corvette coupes, but make sure you’re sitting down when you read the price!
Available for the first time through GM are a pair of rear hatch strut braces, part number 85599584, which are basically an expensive way to spice up the engine bay area of Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray coupes.
This accessory, however, will set you back a whopping $1,995, though Chevy is currently offering a discounted price of $1,516.20 through November 10.
The decorative, uniquely designed Chevrolet Accessories Rear Hatch Strut Braces will add a “show-quality, distinctive appearance” to the engine compartment, Chevy promises, noting that the aluminum investment-cast strut mounts have been engineered specifically for C8 coupes.
The braces, which have a one-piece design featuring the Crossed Flags logo, include the necessary installation hardware and are available only in Edge Red to match the other available emblems, brake calipers, and engine cover also offered by Chevy.
On the other hand, if you’re not all that concerned with having official Chevrolet Accessories products, a much less expensive alternative is available through our friends at C8RallyDriver, who were the first to offer such brackets.
C8RallyDriver offers its professionally designed and engineered RaceLite Hatch Support Brackets for only $375 per set. They are offered in three anodized finishes – red, blue, or black – or you can go full custom and order any factory paint color including Edge Red.
UPDATE
This photo from Chevrolet Performance also shows a new option for 2025. These are the new “Engine Bay Closeout Graphics” which are dealer installed: LPO VUP. They are offered in just this one design as confirmed with Chevy. I haven’t seen them show up yet on Chevrolet Accessories and do not yet have a price for them, so stay tuned.
