The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) and the University of Cyprus (UCY) School of Medicine have renewed their partnership for two more years, extending a collaboration that supports clinical training for medical students.
The renewal agreement was signed on Monday by ING’s General Executive and Medical Director, Professor Leonidas Phylaktou, and UCY Rector, Professor Tasos Christofides.
The collaboration focuses on providing practical experience for UCY medical students within ING’s clinical department, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in a clinical setting.
Phylaktou expressed pride in the partnership, calling UCY a “close and very good partner” to ING and highlighting the agreement’s benefits for students.
Christofides emphasised the importance of the collaboration for students’ training in neurology, adding that the partnership enriches students’ education by combining theory with hands-on clinical skills.
He also referred to the agreement as part of broader efforts to enhance both academic and clinical aspects of UCY’s medical programme.
