Kiambu Family Supports Daughter Sitting KCSE Exams While on Oxygen Machine

A family in Kiambu is facing emotional challenges as they support their daughter, Terry Charity Murugi, who is sitting for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams while reliant on an oxygen machine. Terry, a candidate at King David Junior Secondary School, has battled severe health problems since birth, which worsened in 2023, leading doctors to recommend continuous oxygen support for her survival.

Every morning, her parents, Lucy and Paul Njiru, transport her oxygen machine from their home in Juja to her school, where they set up a special room for her to take the exams. The couple is deeply committed to providing Terry with the best education, despite her health struggles.

Terry’s condition, which has required frequent hospital visits, did not deter her from excelling academically. Her teacher, Rebecca Ayuma, praised her as one of the best performers in her class. With the love and support of her parents, Terry continues to navigate both her health challenges and her academic journey.
