Seven chances created… Manchester United star dominates vs PAOK, he’s Europe’s leading man

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is beginning to find a little form, just at the right time.

Bruno Fernandes has returned to goalscoring form lately, with three goals under Ruud van Nistelrooy to begin the interim manager’s reign.

Fernandes added another assist to his tally for the season, his sixth in total, with a wondrous pass for a rare Amad header.

With three goals and six assists to his name, Fernandes can be somewhat pleased with his numbers even if he is not happy with the team’s form, and his long wait to score his first goals.

Bruno Fernandes vs PAOK

Bruno Fernandes was excellent for Manchester United against PAOK, persistent in his attempts to help his team break the deadlock.

In the end it was a clever lofted ball in towards the back post which gave Amad the chance to show a heading ability not seen since his first United goal in the competition against AC Milan.

Fernandes created seven goalscoring chances in total. For context, PAOK only managed to create eight chances as a team.

The Portugal international only attempted one shot at goal, instead focusing his efforts creatively.

Fernandes had 71 touches in total, making three recoveries, trying to propel the team forward and make the scoreline even more comfortable than it ended up.

Fernandes leads Europe

Bruno Fernandes’ consistency deserves more credit than he receives, especially when you put his performances into context.

According to BBC Sport since he signed for Manchester United in early 2020, Bruno Fernandes has provided more assists in Champions League and Europa League combined than any other player, with 26 in total.

Fernandes continues to add to his tally, with this his first Europa League assist of the season.

Next up in the competition United face Bodo/Glimt, Plzen, Rangers, and FCSB. You would back Fernandes to grab a further assist or two over the course of these games, with United arguably getting some of the toughest fixtures out of the way early.
