PenCom Launches 2024 Online Verification, Enrollment For Prospective Federal Retirees

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has officially commenced the 2024 Online Verification and Enrolment Exercise for employees of Federal Government Treasury-Funded Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) who are scheduled to retire in 2025.
The exercise, which aims to streamline pension processing for retirees, is open to employees who will retire in 2025 and those who missed previous enrolment exercises.
Prospective retirees must first visit their Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) for a data recapture exercise, where they will provide essential information such as their Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registration details, Personal Identification Number (PIN), and National Identity Number (NIN). Those who have already completed the data recapture are not required to repeat this process.
For enrolment, retirees have two options: self-assisted or PFA-assisted. In the self-assisted process, retirees can visit PenCom’s official website to upload their employment details and scanned copies of the required documents, including their birth certificate, letter of first appointment, recent promotion letters, and pay slips. A full list of the necessary documentation is available on the PenCom website.
For retirees who may face challenges with the online process, PenCom encourages them to seek assistance from their MDA’s Pension Desk Officer or visit their respective PFAs. The verification and enrolment process must be completed by December 31, 2024.
PenCom said it remains committed to ensuring that all retirees are successfully enrolled and verified, ensuring a smooth transition into retirement.
