Victor Osimhen has reacted to the reports linking him to a possible January transfer move to Chelsea after scoring a brace in Galatasaray’s 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
In the last days of the summer transfer window, the Blues held advanced negotiations with Napoli over a move for the Nigeria international. But they were unable to come to an agreement with both the player and the club.
Instead, Osimhen moved on loan to Turkey, where he has scored six goals in eight games for Galatasaray so far this season.
It has been reported that Chelsea will go back and seal a move for him in January.
However, according to TeamTalk, after the thrilling victory over Spurs, Osimhen has now stated that he plans to finish the season with Galatasaray, who are now three points clear in the Turkish Super Lig and third in the Europa League standings.
“I’m here as a Galatasaray player, I’m happy here,” Osimhen said after bagging his brace against Ange Postecoglou’s men.
“Since I came the Galatasaray fans, the club, I saw how big a family this club is. The way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful manner. It’s important to be able to give them my all on the pitch.
“I’ve seen a lot of the speculation linking me out of the club in January, I can state through me now I’m going to be here until the end of the season.”
