Chelsea academy product Tyrique George was given a rare start in Chelsea’s Conference League game against Noah.

Tyrique George who had made four substitute appearances for Chelsea in the past, got his first ever Chelsea start for the senior team.

Explaining why he started 18-year-old Tyrique, Enzo Maresca said: “I’m happy for Tyrique George, he did well when he played some minutes with us at Panathinaikos so this is a chance for him and hopefully he can help us.

“I told Tyrique George just two hours before, it’s sometimes better to tell them closer to the game but it depends. Hopefully he can play a good game and help us.”

George lasted 68 minutes on the pitch before being subbed off for Carney Chukwuemeka.
