Bérêche & Fils Brut Réserve champagne, £59.95
Champagne, always. My current favorite is Bérêche & Fils, a small but esteemed producer in Ludes, which I visited for the first time at the beginning of the year. The Bérêche brothers’ signature Brut Réserve is supremely elegant, with notes of osmanthus, white almond, wet chalk and a slight salinity. thewhiskyexchange.com
Frantoi Good Health Olive Oil Selection, €134
This is the time of year when I usually queue up for the new season’s olive oils. Frantoi founder Elizabeth Berger sources her fantastic oils from small producers across Italy. This trio opposes three very different styles, all rich in polyphenols. The packaging is recycled/recyclable and the pouch is made from olive leaves – so it ticks all the boxes. frantoi.org
