Doyin Okupe: Tinubu Will Spend 8 years, There’s an Agreement
Doyin Okupe, former director-general of the Obi/Datti campaign, stated on Channels TV that Nigeria has an informal agreement allowing eight-year terms for northern and southern leaders. He noted that Buhari completed eight years and expects Tinubu will also serve eight if he wishes. Okupe praised Tinubu’s performance, saying that if he resolves pressing issues like the fuel and food crises, he is likely to secure a second term in 2027. Okupe urged Nigerians to give Tinubu a chance, expressing confidence in his leadership.
Ekiti Chief Judge is Dead
Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, Chief Judge of Ekiti State, passed away on Monday after a brief illness. Appointed in October 2021 by former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Adeyeye had a long legal career, beginning in 1986 and advancing to the Ekiti High Court in 2002. Last year, he was hospitalized due to injuries from a partial collapse of a courthouse. The Chief Registrar, Adegoke Olanike, praised his dedication to fairness and justice, and the judiciary expressed deep sorrow at his passing.
Economy Gradually Coming Out of Challenges, Says Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced a reduction in Nigeria’s debt servicing ratio to 65% of revenue, down from 68%. He stated that the economy is showing signs of improvement during the inauguration of seven new ministers. Tinubu encouraged the ministers to remain focused and resilient amid public scrutiny. NAF Airstrikes neutralize ISWAP commander, dozens of others
