Houston Rockets veteran forward Jeff Green has seen it all in the NBA. He has been in the league since 2007. That was so long ago that Jalen Green was just five years old when “Uncle Jeff” made it to the NBA when he got picked fifth overall at the 2007 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics.

But it’s not the longevity of his career that makes Green quite an interesting vet. He’s also the very definition of a journeyman in the pros. The Rockets are just one of the 11 teams he has played for so far in his NBA career.

Given how long he’s been playing in the NBA and the myriad of uniforms he’s suited up for, it’s not really all that surprising that Green is now the league’s record-holder for most teammates played with – a seemingly obscure record that was previously held by Vince Carter, who lasted 22 years as a pro.

Green has played for the Seattle Supersonics, Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, Utah Jazz, and Los Angeles Clippers apart from the Celtics and the Rockets.

At 38 years old, Green doesn’t play much anymore, but his experience and wisdom are qualities that the Rockets surely value.  Houston picked its club option on Green for the 2024-25 NBA season worth $8 million.
