Body language expert reveals truth behind Melania Trump’s ‘concerning’ reaction to Donald Trump’s ‘winning kiss’
Body language expert, Darren Stanton, shared his insights on the ‘strange’ interaction
The world watched on earlier this week as Donald Trump was announced the 47th president of the US.
All eyes were on the 78-year-old and his wife Melania, 54, as the couple celebrated his win after beating out Democrat rival, Kamala Harris.
However, people were quick to notice peculiarities within the ‘strange’ exchange.
One social media user quipped: “Trump and Melania interact with each other so strangely… like do you guys hug and kiss off stage too or is this the first time since the last rally? Why is there no sense of familiarity?”
Another noted: “Trump goes in for a kiss with Melania. She gives him the cheek.”
Some went further, speculating whether there are bigger issues in their marriage, with one X user writing: “Melania hates her husband idc, that kiss was awkward. Yho it’s a circus.”
Even American TV hosts have got involved, with Jimmy Kimmel making them the butt of the joke, saying that Melania’s appearance was ‘section 3, subsection 2.7 of her prenuptial agreement’.
Since then, a body language expert has revealed the truth behind Melania’s ‘concerning’ reaction to the now-viral ‘winning kiss’ moment.
Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, body language expert, Darren Stanton shared his insights regarding the the interaction to help the people of the internet understand the bizarre dynamic a little better,
He told Tyla: The shot of Trump going to kiss her shows a real disparity in emotion.”
Darren noted that, if you look at Melania – who has publicly admitted she firmly disagrees with one of Trump’s major policies – most people would ‘reciprocate’ in that situation.
However, he explains: “There’s no emotion coming from her, they are husband and wife, but it feels like a false greeting.
“Her head’s up which is almost like a gesture of defiance, she is reluctant to reciprocate the action.”
The expert also claimed that there was absolutely zero ‘passion’ between the pair, adding: “She doesn’t want to be there and doesn’t like showing emotion towards him, but instead prefers to maintain her own composure.
“He is doing all the work here.”

Trump married Melania, his third wife, back in 2005 after first meeting in 1998 at a New York Fashion Week party.
Together, they share a son named Barron who was born the year after they wed in 2006.
Other than Barron, Trump, who preaches ‘positive education about the nuclear family, the roles of mothers and fathers’, has four other children from two other marriages.
He shares three children; Donald Junior, Ivanka, and Eric with Ivana Trump who he was married to between 1997 and 1990 as well as a daughter, Tiffany, with Marla Maples who he was with from 1993 to 1999.
